2016/17 Premier League

A first half hat trick for Manchester City yesterday has put Argetinian ace Carlos Tevez firmly back in the race to be the top Premier League goalscorer this season .
Tevez was able to celebrate his 27th birthday in style after helping Manchester City remain on course for a Champions League spot with two penalties in his three goals . This was the third hat trick for Tevez since joining Manchester City and takes his tally to 18 Premier League goals this season just one goal behind leader Dimitar Berbatov who was substituted after 65 minutes of Manchester United's away defeat to Wolves .
Certainly the race to be top Premier League scorer looks to be between only Tevez and Berbatov now as the next highest scorer is Andy Carroll on eleven goals for the season and the gap of eight goals is surely too big with only around thirteen games to be played for most teams .
Most bookmakers are now betting win only or 1/3 odds a place 1-2 so there is no each way value to take advantage of .It is suprising therefore to see that Stan James have priced both players at odds against offering Berbatov at odds of 11/10 and Tevez at 5/4
It is difficult to have too strong an opinion about which of these players will eventually triumph but United manager Alex Ferguson recently set a target of thirty goals for Berbatov for the season and despite yesterday's slip up United are still the Premier League leaders and top scorer's and it would be no suprise if Berbatov was to finish the season with more than twenty five Premier League goals .
