2016/17 Premier League

It is very rare that bookmakers are generous enough to offer odds of 4/5 for a home win at Old Trafford but tomorrow's Manchester derby offers some great value for football punters .
Alex Ferguson's side have a phenomenal record at home in the Premier League so far this season with 12 wins from 13 games amassing thirty seven goals in the process with a positive goal difference of 29 . United's home record this season is even superior to last season when they could manage only a paltry 16 wins from their 19 home games and 2008/09 when they also won 16 from 19 . In the 2007/08 season United won 17 of their home games and you have to go back to the 2006/07 Premier League season when United beat Liverpool to the title by a point to a season when their home win record was less than 84% .
For an average home game therefore over the last 4 seasons Manchester United have had around an 85% win rate which would convert into odds of around 1/9 .
Manchester City will provide a good test however for the league leaders tomorrow who are likely to be without Rio Ferdinand again and Roberto Mancini is quietly maintainig a good title challenge and a win tomorrow would push City into second spot at least temporarily . The immediate target for Manchester City this season is a top four finish and Champions League football for next season and realistically Mancini would be delighted if he could secure a share of the spoils tomorrow .
City possess one of the strongest attacks in the Premier League but they are unlikely to have a great deal of possession tomorrow .
Manchester United are confidently expected to rise to the occasion once again at Old Trafford and at odds of 4/5 with Boylesports , Stan James , Paddy Power , Blue Square and 888Sport it is too good a price to miss .
