FREE BETS ON BALOTELLI’S RETURN FOR MAN CITY AGAINST TOTTENHAM
Manchester City’s enigmatic striker Mario Balotelli is set to return for the visit of Harry Redknapp’s exciting Tottenham side on Sunday. Balotelli is available after missing Monday’s game at Wigan and is expected to be recalled to the starting eleven against a Tottenham team who have emerged as title rivals following a fine first half of the season.
Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini will have been relieved with his side’s narrow 1-0 win at Wigan to get back on track after suffering a dip in form since the turn of the year. City were knocked out of the FA Cup by neighbours Manchester United two weeks ago and are in danger of missing out on a Wembley appearance in the Carling Cup after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Liverpool in the semi final first leg at the Etihad three days later.
Mancini will want to put successive home defeats behind him and look to extend Manchester City’s 100% home record in the Premier League this season. 21-year-old Balotelli has struck eight times in 14 Premier League appearances this season and is in search of his first goal of 2012. He last scored in Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in mid-December but has played just once since 0-0 draw at West Brom on Boxing Day.
Harry Redknap has been playing down Tottenham’s title chances, but knows this game will throw down a marker on his side’s championship credentials. Redknapp will look to Jermain Defoe up front as first choice striker Emmanuel Adebayor is ineligible due the terms of his loan from City. Defoe has been restricted to the bench for the most part since Adebayor’s arrival, making seven league starts and eight appearances from the bench, yet has continued to find the net on a consistent basis with seven Premier League goals this term.
Both sides brim with goal scoring talent, in addition to Balotelli, City have Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and David Silva at their disposal who have notched 40 Premier League goals between them. Even without his top scorer, Redknapp can look to Defoe, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart who also find the net on a consistent basis. Punters betting on the first goalscorer market could be in line for a free bet on Boylesport who will refund losing first goalscorer bets if the selected player scores the second goal of the game.
