As the furore over Fabio Capello's interview on Italian TV yesterday continues , bookmaker William Hill have reacted by quoting odds of 9/2 that Capello will not lead England into the Euro2012 finals in June.
Capello who has been England manager since December 2007 yesterday spoke out against the FA by expressing his disapproval of the FA's decision stripping Terry of the captain's armband as he awaits trial for alleged racial abuse.
In the interview in Italy Capello said "one cannot be punished until it's official and the court - a non-sporting court, a civil court - has made a decision to decide if John Terry has done what he has been accused of."
Capello had his original contract extended by the FA just before the World Cup Finals in South Africa in May2010 ,his existing contract is now set to expire after this summers Euro2012 Finals.
Capello's view on John Terry seems to have changed somewhat in the last two years as he was happy to sack John Terry as England captain two years ago for an "alleged affair" but seemingly is now not happy with Terry being sacked as captain for "alleged racist abuse".
Capello's disapproval of the FA's decision and public criticism of it could be construed as breaching his contract of employment with the FA and talks with the FA are planned this week in an attempt to find a way forward .
With so much uncertainty William Hill's quote of 9/2 seems very generous and may not be around too long.
William Hill spokesman Graham Sharp summed it up today "If Fabio makes a stand on principle over this matter it could easily result in a parting of the ways'.
