Leading Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have today paid out on all bets on Harry Redknapp to be next England manager placed before 9am today.
Paddy Power have built a reputation for paying out early on major betting events and a spokesman for Paddy Power today said:"“It’s hard to believe that just 24-hours ago Harry was biting his nails in anticipation of the verdict in his court case and now he’s clear of all charges and on course for the top job in English football. Talk about a lucky streak!”
The decision by Paddy Power relates to all bets placed on Redknapp before 9am today 9th February and is reckoned to cost the bookie almost £50000.
However the betting and speculation as to whether Redknapp will get the job as next England manager goes on and Paddy Power are now betting odds of 2/7 that Redknapp will be confirmed as the next permanent manager of England. Specifically this does not apply to an interim manager who only receives the position until the end of the season,
and If joint managers are announced, dead heat rules will apply.
There is currently alot of speculation that Redknapp may be given the job on a temporary basis and anyone looking to place a bet on this market now should look carefully at each bookmaker's terms on how the bet will be settled.
