The London 2012 Olympics will provide a new level of national hysteria tonight if Mo Farah can clinch a Gold medal in the 10 000 metres final.
Against the two time Olympic 10 000M champion Kenenisa Bekele from Ethiopia , Farah will have to be at his best but Bekele may not quite be the force he once was.
Farah was second of course in the 10 000M last year at the World Championships in Korea but made a major breakthrough when putting that defeat behind him to win the 5000M beating Bernard Lagat in a sprint finish.
At the London 2012 Olympics it is the 10 000M that is recognised as Farah's best opportunity for Gold and Steve Cram, now BBC commentator,ex 1500M world champion confirmed:"His best chance is in the 10 000,in a straight final he has a better chance."
Bookmakers respect Farah's credentials with Ladbrokes the only bookie prepared to offer 11/8 against Farah who re-located to the US last year in order to improve his Gold medal prospects.
Kenenisa Bekele is second favourite available at odds of 7/2 with Sportingbet and Ladbrokes whilst younger brother Tariku Bekele is next in the betting at odds of 12/1 with the "magic sign".
Wilson Kiprop is the fastest in the world this year and may be value each way at odds of 12/1 with Betfred. Each way terms are 1/5 1-2-3 with all bookmakers for the event.
The London 2012 Olympics has really come alive in the last 3 days for Team GB and Mo Farah has a massive opportunity to be the first Britain ever to win an Olympic Gold in the 10 000 metres .
Dont miss it - race expected to start around 9.15pm
With a packed crowd of 80 000 to cheer him on Farah looks worth a bet to become a real running legend.
