Standard each way terms for non handicaps with 8 or more runners are 1/5 odds 1-2-3 but some bookmakers are quoting non standard terms in the current ante-post book for the Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday for which Frankel is the long odds on favourite with French horse Cirrus Des Aigles also well fancied.
Frankel , unbeaten in thirteen races so far is a general 1/6 favourite with most bookmakers but many bookies are quoting non standard each way terms to counteract the massive under round on the place book .This under round makes it very difficult for bookies to profit from each way bets on the race.
Ladbrokes PR manager , David Williams confirmed "It's an odds compiler's nightmare" but Ladbrokes are one of the bookmakers still offering the standard terms. Other Bookies who are still offering the standard each way terms of 1/5 odds 1-2-3 for the Qipco Champion Stakes are :
With soft ground forecast for Ascot at the weekend , Henry Cecil has stated that Frankel could prove even better on soft ground which the unbeaten colt has not encountered since his juvenile days. Frankel's main challenger is expected to be French colt Cirrus Des Aigles who has excellent form on soft and heavy ground. Cirrus Des Aigles is currently best odds with Corals at 9/2 .
Ascot have confirmed that the threatened wet weather in the run up to Saturday's race will not cause any change in the running order on Champions Day . The Qipco Champion Stakes will remain as the fifth race on the six race card and Frankel's last run is scheduled for an off time of 4.05pm and will of course be covered live on BBC1.
