Cult TV show I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has returned for its twelfth series and, as usual, is scoring poorly in level of A-listers’s participation but highly in entertainment value.   The reality show set in the Australian jungle attracts massive support from the British viewing public with a high so far this series of nearly 10 million viewers earlier this week watching notorious MP Nadine Dorries undertaking a gruelling Bug Burial Trial.  The rewards for participation can be significant.  Boxer David Haye has banked an appearance fee of £165,000, about £100,000 more than the 11 other contestants and has been given privileged access to a gym.  We, the viewers, have in return been given footage of his showering buck naked under a waterfall...swoon.  Boobs have also been prevalent, if not brains, in the form of former Coronation Street actress, Helen Flanagan, whose daft blond demeanor has led to failure in 3 Bushtucker trials so far.   It makes for good trashy telly though.

Helen is not tipped to win the show though.   Comedian and all-round entertainer Brian Conley is the person to beat with bookmaker Ladbrokes offering odds of 5/2 that he will win as King of the Jungle.  Former winner Christopher Biggins says “The entertainer could easily be a winner as long as he keeps it real and doesn’t fall under the pressure”.   East Enders actress, Charlie Brooks is also at the top of the leaderboard and her boyfriend reckons she will do well because “Charlie is in her element on the show.  She is a really outdoors kind of girls so she should do well”.  The bookmakers agree and a number of bookmakers, including Ladbrokes and Coral, are offering odds of 4/1 that she will be the last person standing in the camp.  Boxer David Haye has an ardent following with the public and his relaxed manner round the camp fire is sure to win support.  Christopher Biggins reckons “He’s a bit of totty for the girls and his fitness as a boxer could be very useful ...in the bushtucker trials”.  Odds for him to win are 6/1 from bookmaker Boylesports.

The middle rump of contestants comprises darts player Eric Bristow, the boobtastic Helen Flanagan, actress Linda Robson, celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, 1980’s pop star Limahl and Made in Chelsea participant Hugo Taylor.  It is early days in the series and there could well be some movement both up and down the leaderboard amongst this group.

The tail-end Charlies in the popularity stakes include Nadine Dorrie, Ashley Roberts and Colin Baker.    Former Pussycat Dolls performer Ashley Roberts is considered to be most likely to be eliminated first with bookmaker StanJames offering odds of 3/1 that she will be first to leave the camp.  Nadine Dorries is also favoured to make an early exit (to the possible relief of her constituents who have been left in the lurch during her participation in the show).  Many share the view of Christopher Biggins that “I think Nadine Dorries could come a cropper.  It’s an unbelievably big mistake on her part.  You don’t want your politician going off and doing reality TV and already her career is in the balance as a result”.  Bookmaker SkyBet offers odds of 10/3 that she will be eliminated first.  Similarly, former Dr Who Colin Baker is tipped to leave with bookmaker BoyleSports offering odds of 5/1 that he will be eliminated first from the competition.  The 69 year-old looks exceptionally unfit and overweight so he may appreciate an early departure and a good cup of tea back at his hotel!
