As snow falls over much of the country, the Celebrity Big Brother reality programme is a cauldron of heated words and hot-under-the-duvet action. US reality show couple Speidi (Heidi and Spencer Pratt) are at the centre of the action, igniting fellow contestant Rylan Clarks’ ire and causing dismay with the five other remaining housemates.
Earlier in the show, X-Factor star Rylan had questioned the Speidi relationship due to their lack of public affection but he is no longer troubled by doubts after witnessing suspicious activity under the sheets on Sunday night. Outspoken Rylan was shocked by the couple’s amorous fun-blings; imagine if he’d been witness to Speidi’s reportedly steamy sex session in their basement lair last week! It’s no wonder that Speidi are now third favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother, with odds of 10/1 from bookmaker William Hill, as the public is loving Speidi’s effect on their fellow housemates.
The couple were duped by show producers into believing they were taking part in a special TV show called Big Blogger and that they were fielding questions from the public on their experiences. No, those questions were being posed by the rest of the house who were watching on a TV screen and the couple’s answers were excoriating in their frankness. Rylan, posing as Susy from Essex, asked who their least favourite housemate was. Answer: “All of them, they are all equal”. When asked what the most annoying things someone in the house has done, Heidi responded “Breathe?” and Spencer added “Um, they all smell”. Yep, that’s done nothing for Anglo-American relations! After the recent departures of Lacey Banghard and Gillian Taylforth, there are now six housemates left that all detest the Speidis and we can look forward to more divisive Celebrity Big Brother antics this week as tempers flare in the household as a result of these rising tensions.
Rylan is particularly incensed by the Americans and reckons that Spencer has “more faces than Big Ben”. His forthright views and emotional personality have made him favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother since the show started and at odds of 8/13 that he will win (from bookmaker Coral) who would bet against him?
There has been a definite shift in expected outcomes for the other contestants as the public has got to know the housemates, in so far as Celebrity Big Brother editing allows. Jockey Franki Dettori is losing pace going into the final furlong, as is former footballer “Razor” Ruddock. Conversely, actress Tricia Penrose is now second favourite despite, or perhaps because of her more grounded contribution to the house. After the recent evictions, though, Ryan Moloney and Claire Richards are the most likely to leave but much will depend on how Celebrity Big Brother will play the field this week in terms of nominations and the evictions process.
The action will play out on Channel 5 this week. With harsh winter conditions outside, we can look forward to plenty of Celebrity Big Brother entertainment to lighten up our evenings on the sofa.
