Newcastle United Football Club today announced a major partnership with Asian-facing online gaming brand 138.com.
The recently launched global online betting operation has become the official Global Gaming and Betting Partner of Newcastle United in a move which complements its growing sports portfolio. Representatives of 138.com will be present throughout St James Park every matchday to provide fans with in-stadia betting services.
As an Official Partner of the Club, 138.com’s logo will feature across all Newcastle’s media channels including sponsorship of the Club’s official website, www.nufc.co.uk.
On the NUFC website, 138.com chief executive officer Garth Kimber said: “We are delighted to be in partnership with one of the largest and most recognisable football clubs and indeed brands in the world, and look forward to working together with the Club and its fantastic fans over the coming seasons.”
Newcastle United’s head of partnerships Dale Aitchison added: “With the global reach of Premier League football and the Newcastle United brand, we are truly delighted to form a global partnership with one of the fastest growing gaming brands in the world.”
138.com was formerly branded 138SunGame, a niche website of choice for Asian players in Canada and Europe. The partnership complements 138.com’s plans to reach out to the large Asian communities in the UK and mainland Europe where Newcastle United Football Club is one of the leading Premier League brands. 138.com is also a sponsor at Championship club Watford FC who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season.
