Prince De Beauchene is set to contest his first ever Grand National on April 5th, but is sure to benefit from experiencing the Aintree fences earlier in his career. The French bred bay gelding is trained by leading Irish handler Willie Mullins and he knows what it takes to win 'the big one' having already tasted Grand National success with Hedgehunter in 2005.

Can Prince De Beauchene Win The 2014 Grand National?

Having landed the Grade 2 Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse in 2012 ahead of 2010 Grand National runner-up Black Apalachi, Prince De Beauchene can certainly cut it with the top staying horses in the game. Despite only posting modest efforts this season, a weight of just 10st 10lbs gives Willie Mullins charge less to deal with than some of those at the top of the handicap and his win in the 2011 John Smith's Handicap Chase gives further encouragement that tackling the unique fences at Aintree will not be a problem for the veteran chaser.
