We take a look at the latest outright betting odds ahead of the big kick-off in the Football League Championship, League 1 and League 2 this weekend.
Blackburn Rovers v Cardiff gets the Championship action underway on Friday night with the latter aiming to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Cardiff are 8/1 joint favourites with William Hill for the title along with last year's play-off final losers Derby, while Coral are quoting best odds 10/1 about Fulham topping the pile after 46 matches. Wigan did more giant killing in the FA Cup last season and will be looking to put a run of results together at 10/1 with Ladbrokes while the third relegated side Norwich complete the leading contenders at a best price 11/1 with Coral. Sheffield United host Bristol City in the League 1 lunch-time kick-off on Saturday, pitting the two leading contenders for the title against eachother in the opening match. The Blades are 5/1 favourites to win the league and will be hoping to use their home advantage to get off to the perfect start, but the Robins Outright price of 8/1 could disappear if they get the right result at Bramall Lane. There are plenty of sides in with a chance of mounting a title challenge with Spreadex quoting top price 17/2 about Preston and those fancying Leyton orient can get stand out best odds of 14/1 with bwin.
League 2 Outright Betting is just as competitive, but Portsmouth head the market at 8/1 with Betway. Pompey are away to Exeter in their opening match and will be looking to take maximum points against a side which is tipped to be battling relegation, while Bury who are 17/2 with 888Sport to win the title have a home tie with Cheltenham. At 19/2 with Spreadex, Luton are also contenders and should make the play-offs at least, while Shrewsbury could also mount a serious challenge at 11/1 with Betway.
