Good Contact & Parsley are odds on favourites to win their respective races at Leicester and Windsor on Sunday afternoon, but there are no guarantees the pair will justify such short prices.
Betting for the British Stallion Studs Ebf Maiden Stakes at 2.00 Leicester is dominated by 4/7 favourite Good Contact after the colt fared best of the newcomers when a close second in a warm Newmarket maiden on his debut last month. The Saeed bin Suroor-trained horse beat five next time out winners in that race, but the winner Lexington Times was last of three next time out and there are a couple of debutants to be feared today. Richard Hannon saddles noteworthy newcomer Mutasayyid, an unraced half-sister to very smart winner up to 1m Tinners Way, but it's Pleiades who is feared most for the jockey-trainer partnership of Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute and the well-bred colt may be of each-way appeal at 8/1 with Bet365 and William Hill.
The second race on Windsor's card is a five-runner sprint in the Macdonald Hotel Windsor Novice Auction Stakes at 2.45, for which Parsley has the majority of market support at odds of 2/5. However, the filly hasn't progressed as was hoped after landing a Goodwood maiden on her second start and although Richard-Hannon's horse went close at Newmarket on her next start, a poor run there next time followed by a laboured nine-length defeat in the Super Sprint an Newbury is enough to temper the enthusiasm. Ivors Rebel got the hang of things at the second attempt and could be about to build on his win at Bath, making odds of 4/1 with Betway a more attractive proposition for those wanting to bypass the market leader.
Elsewhere, Headline News is a market mover for 3.00 Leicester having been available at 8/1 earlier this morning and is now no bigger than 7/2, while Kool Kompany has also had support and is best price 9/4 with Coral to land today's big race at the Curragh, the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes for which the latest odds are displayed on the right of this page.
