West Brom head into Sunday's clash against Burnley with renewed optimism after picking up their first Premier League win of the season against Tottenham.
Even the most positive thinking Baggies fans wouldn't have expected to come away from Whitehart Lane with 3 points, but Albion's first win at Spurs in 30 years sees them off the foot of the table after a difficult start. If you fancy betting on WBA to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they take on Burnley, open an account with Ladbrokes to get your first bet matched with up to £100 free bet.
The latest match odds for the clash with Burnley are shown in the top right of this page (mobile users scroll down). Alan Irvine must now decide whether he will risk any injuries to his first team squad ahead of what looks to be a winnable Premier League fixture, or whether to field a weakened side in Wednesday's League Cup clash with Hull.
Keeping Joleon Lescott fit and available looks to be key to how the season will go for West Brom after the former Man City defender put in a solid display on his debut. His experience was plain to see on Sunday as Spurs were limited to just seven shots, with only one of those efforts forcing Ben Foster into making a save. A breath of fresh air then for Alan Irvine who had watched his side struggle at the back against Sunderland, Everton and Swansea.
The chances of Albion earning another clean-sheet would seem quite high in this match, as a deflected shot off the cross-bar was the nearest Burnley came to scoring against Sunderland and the Clarets have now failed to score in three consecutive matches. However, Burnley have prevented their opponents from scoring in the same period and West Brom have hardly been prolific in front of goal themselves in this campaign.
James Morrison's second-half header against Tottenham was WBA's first goal in four Premier League games and the likes of Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye need to start firing if the Baggies are to stay clear of trouble. A solid defensive base will perhaps encourage some of the more forward thinking players to take a few extra risks in the final third and we could see improvement from West Brom in the goals department this Sunday.
