Stoke travel to White Hart Lane this Sunday looking for their first away victory since their shock 1-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad in August. The Potters have made a solid, if unspectacular, start to the season, while Mauricio Pochettino has made a mixed start to life at Spurs following his summer arrival from Southampton.

The Lilywhites were aiming to challenge for a Champions League spot this season but the bookmakers currently rank them as outsiders, with Bet365 offering 6/1 for the North Londoners to finish inside the top-four. Victory this weekend, however, would see the club move a step in the right direction and would leave the visitors looking over their shoulder at the wrong end of the table.

Who Will Win?

Spurs have lost three of their five home games so far this season, with Liverpool picking a convincing 3-0 win while West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United both picked up surprise 1-0 and 2-1 victories, respectively. Pochettino did enjoy a 1-0 win over his former club, Southampton, however, along with a comfortable 4-0 victory over QPR.

And the Lilywhites appear to have struggled to manage their Europa League and Premier League football, losing three of their five league matches that have followed their European excursions and the home side made a long trip to Greek side Asteras on Thursday night, picking up a hard earned 2-1 victory.

Stoke, meanwhile, have picked up just one away win so far this season - at reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City - and sit with eight points from their last six league games, one more than Spurs, with two wins, two draws and two defeats. The visitors arrived having lost their last two away matches, however, falling 3-1 to struggling Sunderland and losing 1-0 at in form Southampton.

The home side are unbeaten in their last five games against Stoke and despite their indifferent form so far this season Pochettino’s men are the odds on favourites with the bookmakers, available at 4/6 with Coral with BetVictor offering a best price of 21/4 for the visitors while a draw is 14/5 with Bet365.

Will There Be Goals?

Tottenham won both meetings between the two sides last season, scoring four goals and keeping two clean sheets. While the Lilywhites have netted just six goals in their opening five games at White Hart Lane (four of them against QPR), with Stoke netting five goals in five games on the road this season.

The home side netted two late goals against Aston Villa to secure a much needed 2-1 victory last Sunday and victory this weekend would give the club back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since August. In contrast, Stoke have netted in seven of their last eight Premier League games but arrive at White Hart Lane with just one win from their last five in all competitions.

Two of Spurs three home defeats, meanwhile, and Stoke’s only away victory, were all won by a winning margin of just one goal and you can get 7/1 with SkyBet for the Potters to continue that trend and win by one goal, while a 1-0 win for the visitors is available at 16/1 with Coral.

Who Will Score?

Neither side have been prolific in front of goal, although midfielder Nacer Chadli has netted five league goals from Spurs while young English striker Harry Kane netted his first Premier League goal of the season last weekend.

Chadli has already equalled last season’s goal tally of five goals in all competitions and the former FC Twente man is 7/1 with SkyBet to open the scoring and 12/5 with the same bookies to score anytime. And Kane is 13/10 with BetVictor to score anytime and 9/2 with SkyBet to open the scoring.

At the other end, Mame Biram Diouf has netted three Premier League goals so far this season, including the winner against Manchester City at the Etihad and the former Manchester United forward is priced at 9/1 with William Hill to score first while former Spurs striker Peter Crouch is available at 14/5 with the same firm to score anytime.
