The highlight of Saturday's racing is the Betfair Chase and new Betfair customers can get enhanced odds 10/1 Cue Card, plus money back if you lose in the 3.00 Haydock.
Cue Card was successful in this race 12 months ago, beating Dynaste by 4 and a half lengths, while the current market leader and 2012 winner Silviniaco Conti was back in third.
The same preperations have been made on this occasion with the Grade 1 contest offering £112,540 for the winner a clearly mapped-out target by connections. Last year trainer Colin Tizzard sent Cue Card to Exeter for his seasonal re-appearance where he finished third in the Haldon Gold Cup before going on to win the Betfair Chase, so would-be backers should not be deterred by a modest effort in the same prep race earlier this month.
The King's Theatre gelding is a model of consistency and has 6 chase victories to his name, so is expected to give the usual good account now that the cobwebs have been dusted off. Standard odds for the horse are currently 3/1 as bookies are not taking any chances of another back-to-back success in the race, managed by chasing hero Kauto Star with wins in 2006 and 2007.
A quality field including the likes of recent Charlie Hall Chase winner Menorah and JLT Novices' Chase scorer at the Cheltenham Festival Taquin De Seuil will be hoping to land another sizable prize, but those who fancy the mount of Joe Tizzard can get enhanced odds 10/1 Cue Card to win the Betfair Chase, plus money back as a free bet if you lose.
