The JP McManus-owned Rouquine Sauvage has been well backed this morning and is set to go off as an odds-on favourite at 2.10 Lingfield.
Trained by Anthony Honeyball, the market leader hadn't shown much over timber until being sent handicapping at Chepstow in November where she left that form behind to win by a cosy 9 lenghts from Moving Waves on heavy ground over a trip of of 2m 110yds.
The 7-year-old mare was then asked to turn out rather quickly over a longer trip at Uttoxeter 7 days later where she posted a creditable effort for second, 1 and a half lengths behind Chestern.
Rouquine Sauvage returns to a more suitable 2 mile trip this afternoon and with AP McCoy booked, it's little surprise that a price of 4/5 is being snapped up and now only Spreadex are quoting those odds.
Lights of Broadway has fair form on heavy ground and may be the one to watch out for having notched a second career win at Catterick last month, while Barton Rose is another mudlark, but has been out of form and will probably need every lb of Martin Mcintyre's allowance if she is to get on terms.
The other three contenders look to have too much on their plate in this heat and Rouquine Sauvage is expected to take the world of beating as money continues to come for the chestnut mare.
