Super Sunday kicks off with Arsenal v Stoke in the Premier League on January 11th, Freebets.com preview the game from a betting perspective with stats and tips to assist your punt.
The Gunners began their FA Cup defence with a rematch of last year's final against Hull on Sunday and are safely into the next round after a comfortable 2-0 win thanks to goals from Per Mertesacker and Alexis Sanchez.
Stoke had a slightly easier game against non-league Wrexham who are struggling in the Conference Premier, so Mark Hughes was able to rest a few more of his first team players than his opposite number after what has been a busy few weeks for both sides.
Ahead of this weekend's round of fixtures, Arsenal are on the cusp of a European qualification spot in sixth place and will be looking for any opportunity to jump ahead of rivals Tottenham in fifth, while Stoke occupy 11th spot and will be hoping to upset the odds to move into the top-half of the table.
Who Will Win?
With only a month passsing since the sides met at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke's 3-2 success in the reverse fixture will still be fresh in the memory. The Potters will believe that they can get a result at the Emirates, while Arsenal will be desperate to atone for a nightmare first half which saw them go in 3-0 down at the interval, with the tie seemingly over as a contest. The Gunners rallied after the break to pull a couple of goals back and may have been able to push for an equaliser, bur Calum Chambers was sent off and they played the final 15 minutes with 10 men.
The evidence of that game suggests there will be little to separate the sides on Sunday, as has been the case in the previous six meetings between Arsenal and Stoke - only once during that period has the winning margin been more than one goal.
Arsenal are undefeated in 26 of their last 27 at the Emirates in the Premier League and have won their last 10 home games against Stoke in all competitions. With those stats in mind, it could be a good time to join Betvictor for enhanced odds 5/1 Arsenal To Beat Stoke as opposed to taking the industry standard price of 4/9.
Will There Be Goals?
There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Arsenal's last 6 home games in the Premier League and that was also the case when the sides last met. But with four of the previous six meetings having under 2.5 goals, playing this market may be a little risky.
With just 9 clean sheets from the combined 40 Premier League games these sides have contested so far this season, there is a case for both teams scoring and at best odds 20/21 with Betvictor this fixture can be readily added to your protected 5-Fold.
Who Will Score?
With 15 goals from just 26 appearances in all competitions, the hosts have relied heavily on Alexis Sanchez for goals this season and it's no surprise to see him at the head of the First Goalscorer market. But with Danny Welbeck a slight doubt due to a thigh injury, it could be worth taking a chance on Olivier Giroud at 4/1 as the Frenchman will be freshened up having missed the last three games through suspension.
Peter Crouch netted the opener in the reverse fixture and is likely to be recalled to the starting line-up having been rested against Wrexham. The lofty forward is a massive 10/1 to open the scoring and could be a viable alternative for those fancying the away side to land the first blow.
