Lays Down £50,000 Cheltenham Festival Trials Day Challenge

There's an extra incentive for connections on Cheltenham Festival Trials Day with a £50,000 bonus if the winner of the Trophy Steeple Chase goes on to win any race at the Festival in March.

Trials Day provides a final rehearsal for many Cheltenham Festival stars and is hoping owners and trainers will take up their challenge to land a special Cheltenham double for a share of the £50,000 bonus. The additional prize money will be split three ways with £40,000 to the successful owner, £5,000 to the winning trainer and £5,000 to the winning stable staff. entered into a three-year deal to sponsor the 2mile 5 furlong Grade 3 handicap chase in 2014 and are delighted to extend their involvement to Cheltenham Festival. Despite the potential cost, the leading online sports affiliate is looking forward to the added spark it will bring to their sponsored race.

Cheltenham Festival Trials Day will be staged on Saturday 24th January and it is rare that the meeting doesn't feature at least one Festival winner. In 2014 Lac Fontana won on Festival Trials Day before going on to win the Vincent O'Brien Hurdle in March.

Last year's winner of the Trophy Steeple Chase, Wishfull Thinking, went on to run with credit in the Queen Mother Champion Chase but the Byrne Group Plate is the most likely target for the any horse that wins the race. Other possibilities include the Ryanair Festival Handicap and the Rewards4Racing Novices Handicap.
