West Bromwich Albion head to the Emirates to face Arsenal in their final game of the Premier League season, Freebets.com looks at the stats for Olivier Giroud and Saido Berahino to see which striker is likely to have the most influence on the result.
Anyone who read our latest head to head article and decided to back the Baggies to win to nil against Chelsea will be counting their winnings after Monday night’s 3-0 success. Albion gave the Hawthorns faithful a great finale and will be hoping to repeat the trick and give traveling West Brom fans something to cheer at the Emirates on Sunday.
Olivier Giroud is set to lead the line for the hosts, while Saido Berahino will be looking to back up Monday’s brace by getting on the score-sheet once more, so Freebets.com have compiled some stats to help your betting on Arsenal v West Brom.
Giroud & Berahino Shooting Stats
Olivier Giroud has gradually earned himself a good reputation as a useful member of the Arsenal team after a slow, but steady start to life in North London. The Frenchman can often be frustrating to watch, but his return of 14 goals from 25 appearances this season gives him a 0.56 goals per game ratio in the Premier League.
Saido Berahino is beginning to fulfil his potential and has already been knocking at the door for a full international call-up after a number of eye-catching displays this season. However, his tally of 14 goals from 37 appearances results in a 0.38 goals per game ratio, which could be put down to the Englishman being fielded on the flank in a number of those games.
Giroud has fired more shots than Berahino with an average of 2.7 compared to his 2.3, and is favourite in the First Goalscorer market for this game. However, Berahino looks a different proposition when spearheading the West Brom attack and can be backed to open the scoring at a juicy price of 11/1 with Skybet.
Giroud & Berahino Creative Stats
While still primarily judged on the goals they score, the modern-day forward is required to do much more for his teammates than in years gone by and the ability to link play from midfield to attack is a key part of the complete striker’s skillset.
This is not so much of a requisite for Berahino, yet we can see from the statistics above that he still offers more than just goals to the team, with an impressive 83% pass completion rate compared to just 67.9% for Giroud. This is in spite of Saido attempting an average of 9 fewer passes per game than his Arsenal rival who is arguably seen as more of a target man, yet just edges the Baggies striker in terms of chances created and assists.
With the West Brom striker’s main responsibility to finish off any of Albion’s attacking moves and the fact that he is first in the pecking order for any penalties, Skybet’s best odds of 4/1 for Berahino to score anytime could be well worth a small investment.
