PSG striker Edinson Cavani has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, read about the latest transfer betting odds for the Uruguayan striker.
Arsenal remain in the market for a big-name signing before the transfer window shuts next Tuesday after long-term target and Real Madrid star Karim Benzema stated his intent to remain with the La Liga club via his Twitter account.
Arsene Wenger has now reportedly switched his focus to Edinson Cavani, prompting online bookmakers to shorten their prices on the Paris-SG striker joining Arsenal. The best odds available in the Club After Summer Transfer Window market are 9/2, but punters can get better value at Coral with odds of 5/1 on offer in the Next Club market.
Cavani To Arsenal?
After collecting just four Premier League points from a possible nine, Arsene Wenger has labelled his team as being "very average" so far this season. The Gunners have failed to score in five of their last six Premier League home games, so it would seem that a striker with a proven goal-scoring record is top of their wish list.
Cavani made a name for himself at Serie A side Palermo where in his final two seasons he scored 30 goals in all competitions, earning him a move to Napoli where he amassed an impressive tally of 104 goals in 138 appearances. At his current club PSG, Cavani has scored 56 goals in 96 matches, so it's fair to say that he fits the bill.
The 28-year-old has been on Arsenal’s radar in the past and it's understood that Paris Saint Germain do not want to sell, but it would be reasonable to anticipate the club pulling off another stunning deal like they did when landing Mesut Ozil for £42m from Real Madrid two years ago.
