Punters that followed Freebets.com horse racing and golf betting tips in August will have enjoyed backing some nicely priced winners as tipsters Alan Kelly and Paul Atkin ended the month in profit.
Alan, who made an incredible four figure profit to a £10 stake on his daily nap selections in 2014, tips exclusively for Freebets.com and his tips are provided free on the website and for followers of racingtips2day on Twitter. Nap selections are pushed daily to the Freebets app which is available on iOS and Android.
Paul is a golf fanatic and provides Freebets.com with picks for PGA Tour events, European Tour events, plus all the Majors and World Golf Championships. His weekly column gives an in depth look into the upcoming tournaments and more often than not includes three recommended bets with a focus on each-way value.
Patience Pays Dividends For Racing Punters
Beating the bookies is a marathon not a sprint and Alan proved that to great effect in August by continually seeking out value with his daily naps to end the month with a profit of £158.50 for a £10 level stake.
It was slow going during the first half of the month when Alan was keen to oppose a number of favourites in high profile races and over the first three weeks in August he didn't tip anything shorter than 6/1. Punters that regularly seek out value will know that having a few losers is part of the game and those that kept faith with Alan certainly got their reward at the end of the month.
At the Ebor Festival, 9/1 shot Pleascach ended the barren run by landing the Yorkshire Oaks by a neck from 8/11 favourite Covert Love to narrow the defecit, though the bookies were still winning at this point and the following day Alan's 3/1 nap Acapulco found only one horse too good in the highly competitive Nunthorpe Stakes to keep us in the red.
With the dust still settling on the action at York, Alan focused his attentions on Deauville and the Group 1 Darley Prix Jean Romanet and tipped up a long-odds outsider in Karl Burke's Odeliz. The 25/1 chance made all of the running and held off a late challenge, much to the delight of punters that followed the tip.
Awesome August For Golf Tips
Paul Atkin's penchant for each-way value was seen to good effect in August when he finished with a £347.50 profit from a £10 level stake across 12 bets.
He got the ball rolling at the WGC Bidgestone Invitational where despite Hideki Matsuyama and Keegan Bradley coming up short, Jim Furyk landed the place money at odds of 40/1 to give us a winning start ahead of the final major of the season.
Paul successfully picked out the winner of the PGA Championship with Jason Day at odds of 14/1, but as if that wasn't enough, he had also recommended an 80/1 each-way bet on Brandan Grace who finished inside the top 6 at Whistling Straits to make it a tournament to remember for our golf guru.
The following week, Paul focused on the Made In Denmark tournement and had a marginal victory over the bookies when Matthew Fitzpatrick and Rikard Karlberg didn't do as well as expected, but 25/1 each-way recommendation Kristoffer Broberg played his way into the places to give us our stakes back plus a little extra.
Unfortunately Paul was unable to continue his winning streak into The Barclays tournament, but his followers will have plenty in their betting bank after an awesome August and will be ready to reinvest on his selections throughout September and beyond.
