Everton welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park for a Premier League clash on Saturday 12th September 2015 - Live at 12.45 on BT Sport 1. It's the first match following the international break and is sure to be a popular attraction for punters looking to get their weekend off to a profitable start.
The home side have had a mixed bag of results so far and are yet to pick up 3 points in front of their own fans after drawing with Watford and losing to Man City at Goodison Park. The Toffees signed off for the international break with a 0-0 draw away to Spurs which may be a decent result in the grand scheme of things, but Roberto Martinez will be keen for his side to start winning their home matches and a result against Chelsea could be the shot in the arm that Everton need.
It's difficult to assess what is going wrong at Chelsea and the feeling is that they will get up and running soon enough, but the Blues cannot afford any more blips as Man City already hold an 8 point advantage over the Champions. Plenty of punters will have been left disappointed as Chelsea were involved in a real 'coupon-buster' last time out when losing 1-2 at home to Crystal Palace and to compound their defensive woes Jose Mourinho was unable to prize John Stones away from Everton during the summer transfer window, so he'll no doubt be hoping the young defender has a rare bad game on Saturday.
The bookies have Chelsea down as favourites at around the even money mark, with Everton deemed to be outsiders to win the match despite having the home advantage. In a game that looks tough to call, plenty of punters will be sitting on the fence and can still get involved in the action by opting for a bet on the First Goalscorer market.
Goalscorer Second Chance
Starting with the hosts, Romelu Lukaku will lead the line against his former club and has already notched twice this season, so looks like a relatively straghtforward bet for those expecting Everton to land the first blow. Arouna Kone is a viable alternative to the big Belgian, though may have his starting berth under threat now that Kevin Mirallas is back in the picture and the latter is also worthy of consideration. However, those of you looking for bigger odds could do a lot worse than backing Ross Barkley who has started the season in good form by scoring twice and is always likely to threaten from midfield.
Chelsea's Diego Costa scored a hat-trick in a thrilling 3-6 victory in this fiuxture last season and after opening his account for the new campaign away to West Brom, is the go-to selection for most punters here. Radamel Falcao took his chance when coming off the bench to score in the defeat against Crystal Palace and will be pushing for a start, while Eden Hazard is yet to fire this season, but remains on the radar as the designated penalty taker.
