888sport has a great welcome offer for new customers giving treble odds on their first bet placed, which is ideal for this Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Porto and Chelsea.
After an indifferent start to their Premier League campaign, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will return to Porto - with whom he won his first of two Champions League titles with in 2003/04 - looking to take maximum points from the Blues’ first two Group G games, with Chelsea having beaten Maccabi Tel-Aviv 4-0 in their opening game.
Chelsea have won each of their last eight matches against Portuguese opposition and they also hold the upper hand over Porto, with four wins from their previous six encounters.
The two sides last met in the Champions League group stage back in 2009/10, when Nicolas Anelka struck in both games to secure 1-0 wins for Chelsea in both contests. Two years previous to that, in the first knockout round, the Blues held on for a 1-1 draw in Portugal, before claiming a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge - thanks to goals from Arjen Robben and Michael Ballack cancelling out Ricardo Quaresma’s first half opener.
Mourinho also met his former employers in his first season at Chelsea in 2004/05, with his new side winning 3-1 at home but the then-reigning Champions League winners Porto prevailing 2-1 at home.
The Special One will not be the only one facing off against former employers in this one - as Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas played under Mourinho when the pair were at Real Madrid, while Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao played for Porto between 2009 and 2011.
Chelsea also triumphed in Portugal last season - on their way to topping their Champions League group for the ninth time in their last 12 campaigns - as Nemanja Matic’s header gave them a 1-0 away win over Sporting Clube de Portugal, before the Blues won the reverse fixture as well to extend their dominance over Portuguese sides to eight successive wins.
Porto to win is 9/5 on 888sport, but the bookmaker is enhancing those odds to nearly 11/2 with treble odds (6.40 to be exact.) A Chelsea win at the Estadio do Dragao is boosted to 5/1 from the normal odds of 17/10, while the draw will pay better at 13/2 when the price is tripled.
Open an account with 888sport and you will get treble odds on your first bet, up to £10 maximum stake.
You’d be crazy to let the offer pass if you don’t have an account with 888sport and the great thing about this treble odds offer is that all the winnings will be paid in cash, which means it can be withdrawn straight away and there is no obligation to make another bet with the extra winnings like some other enhanced odds offers.
The offer applies to any sport and 888sport has an extensive choice with thousands of markets on over 20 different sports. However, it’s this Champions League clash that will create most interest this Tuesday evening - as Mourinho looks to continue Chelsea’s dominance in Portugal over the side that he won his first Champions League title with.
