The 2012 Cheltenham Festival is less than three weeks away and some bookmakers are now offering non runner no bet (NRNB)on the big races at the Festival. The non runner no bet concession is massively important as it means you will get your money back if your horse does not run in the designated race.
The current position as of 22nd February is that Ladbrokes and Bet365 are offering non runner no bet on the four Championship races as follows :
Stan James Champion Hurdle
Sportingbet.com Queen Mother Champion Chase
Ladbrokes World Hurdle
Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup
Betfred who will sponsor the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the first time this season are also now offering NRNB on this race which features another mouthwatering clash between Long Run and Kauto Star.
The bookmakers with the non runner no bet concession are top price about the folowing fancied horses :
Champion Hurdle – Zarkandar 6/1 with Ladbrokes
Champion Hurdle – Brampour 50/1 with Bet365
Champion Chase – Sizing Europe 11/10 Bet365 Ladbrokes
World Hurdle – So Young 16/1 with Bet365
World Hurdle – Carlo Brigante 25/1 with Bet365
For the Cheltenham Gold Cup , favourite Long Run is available at odds of 9/4 with Bet365 , Betfred and Ladbrokes. This is the top industry odds currently available. Betfred also offer 14/1 on Synchronised whilst Ladbrokes offer 16/1 for Midnight Chase and Quel Esprit and odds of 20/1 for Weird Al and 40/1 for Diamond Harry.
There is as always plenty of value available in the ante-post betting market for the Cheltenham Festival but it is very much worthwhile at this stage taking the non runner no bet concession wherever possible.
Last year Bet365 stole a march on the industry by offering non runner no bet on ALL Cheltenham Festival races from the last Friday in February. We will keep everyone informed if a repeat is announced for the 2012 Festival.
