Destiny Udogie injury update

After the game, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was asked if his side had any fresh injury concerns, to which he replied: “No I don’t think so.

“Destiny went off but I’m not sure if it was cramp, but everyone else was OK as far as I know.”

On why Heung-min Son did not start, Postecoglou added: “We were worried about fatigue, that’s why we brought him on in the second half. He was ready to play, wanted to play. If you look, two of their games went to extra-time, last game was pretty draining as well.

“So the fact that we had options, if we were desperate he probably would have started. But we had other options, that meant we could protect him. I think it was better for him that he came on and played the minutes he did.”

The Tottenham boss also give his thought on side’s comeback vs Brighton: “Pleased with getting the win and I thought that we probably deserved it in the end for our endeavours. Fair to say the first half wasn’t great. Part of that is because Brighton are a good side, they’re well coached and very disciplined and we weren’t. We just took a few liberties with our football, our effort and our workrate, there were a few things that we have been really good at this year but we just didn’t do it in the first half.”
