Latest on Gabriel Jesus before Brentford
Gabriel Jesus has not played since October 24 after injuring his hamstring in the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Sevilla in the Champions League.
Despite this, the forward has still been called up by Brazil ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina.
Jesus is not expected to be fit for Brazil’s game against Colombia but it is hoped he can feature against Argentina on Tuesday.
Arsenal have been wary about rushing Jesus back as he has already struggled with injuries this season but if he can feature vs Argentina, he should be available for the meeting with Brentford later this month.
This is great news for Arsenal as their other no.9, Eddie Nketiah, has also been suffering from injury problems recently. Leandro Trossard has filled in for the duo but Mikel Arteta will need more legs available during the hectic winter period.
