Arsenal join exclusive Premier League club after Brentford win

Arsenal faced off with Brentford in a Premier League clash on Saturday evening and came away with a 2-1 win to, temporarily at least, go top of the table.

The Gunners must now turn their attention toward the Champions League as they face FC Porto in the second of two legs on Tuesday. Back Arsenal to win 2-0 at 5/1 with bet365.

Arsenal to win 2-0

Arsenal join exclusive club

After Kai Havertz’s late winner secured Arsenal a crucial three points over the Bees, it has been revealed that the north Londoners have joined an exclusive club.

Arsenal are only the fourth side to win each of their first eight Premier League games of a calendar year; the previous three all went on to win the title that year (Manchester United in 2009, Liverpool in 2020, Manchester City in 2021).

The win was, of course, a huge one in the Premier League title race and Mikel Arteta has since given his thoughts on the game:

“It felt great,” he said. “Obviously we had to dig in and earn the right to win it. I’m really pleased with the performance, the maturity and control that we showed and how we overcame difficulties.

“If you want to be up there you have to win these types of games. The team showed that it has the tools and the determination to do so.”
