Arsenal’s potential Champions League round of 16 opponents confirmed

Arsenal’s return to the UEFA Champions League could hardly have gone much better, topping their group with a game to spare, making Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven very inconsequential.

Thus, the Gunners can look forward to Monday’s round of 16 draw, scheduled to take place at 11am (GMT), with these Arsenal’s potential opponents:

  • FC København
  • Napoli
  • Internazionale Milano
  • Lazio
  • Paris Saint-Germain
  • RB Leipzig
  • FC Porto

Of the above, Mikel Arteta’s team would probably most want to avoid last season’s finalists Inter, while Paris Saint-Germain would also be high up that list.

Arsenal have never previously faced either København, although they did win the Cup Winners’ up at Parken in 1994, or RB Leipzig, most-recently visiting Saxony in 1978 for a meeting with Lokomotiv Leipzig.

First legs: 13, 14, 20 & 21 February.

Second legs: 5, 6, 12 & 13 March.
