Aston Villa are back in action on Wednesday evening when they face Chelsea in an FA Cup replay, with the winner taking on Leeds United in the 5th round.
Villa and Chelsea drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge in the first tie and Unai Emery’s side are now 1/1 with bet365 to win this evening.
Aston Villa dealt injury blow
Ahead of facing Chelsea, Aston Villa have lost a key player to injury for an extended period.
The player in question is defender Ezri Konsa, who has been ruled out for up to four weeks ahead of his side’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea.
Unai Emery has selected the 26-year-old in all but one of Villa’s games this season before he was forced off with a knee problem in the recent 5-0 win at Sheffield United.
Emery stated before the fourth-round replay against Chelsea that Konsa should return towards the end of this month.
“He is injured,” confirmed the Spaniard. “He has a knee sprain and he is going to be not available for three or four weeks, more or less.”
