Man United to win (Evens) Bet Victor
Salomon Rondon – Anytime Scorer (5/2) Totesport
Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom in what could prove a tricky test for the Red Devils.
West Brom are undefeated in their last three Premier League matches, following the 3-2 success over Crystal Palace with an excellent draw at Leicester. Tony Pulis’ side sit in mid-table, in no-man’s land with a big gap between themselves and the relegation dogfight, while too far back to be challenging for Europe.
Manchester United ground out an undeserved 1-0 win over Watford on Wednesday night, with Juan Mata making the crucial difference late on. However that made it four wins on the bounce for the Old Trafford outfit, and most importantly, took some pressure off manager Louis van Gaal, for now at least
In head-to-head stats honours are even, with two wins apiece and a draw in the last five matches. Man United are the clear favourites at a top price of Evens with BetVictor, while West Brom’s best chance according to bookmakers is the draw at 5/2 with Betfred, which may look some value with West Brom playing so well. The Baggies are 7/2 to take all three points with William Hill.
Anthony Martial who has returned from injury is the favourite to score first at 5/1 with Paddy Power, with young starlet Marcus Rashford at 6/1 also with Paddy Power. Rashford’s four goals in his first two appearances has him brimming with confidence, so Paddy’s 2/1 for him to score at anytime is worth a second look.
For West Brom, Salomon Rondon and Saido Berahino are both available at 8/1 with BetVictor, with the big Venezuelan striker likely to cause all sorts of problems for the United back line with his aerial prowess. 5/2 for him to score anytime with Totesport looks a reasonable bet against a back four that have struggled at set-pieces.
A total of thirteen goals have been scored in the last five meetings, so the 11/8 with Coral for “Over 2.5 Goals” looks a worthy punt, while those looking for less risk, may want to go for the “Both Teams To Score” bet at 11/10 with Betfair
West Brom’s recent form has been good, while United are starting to grind results out again. Overall the draw does attract a lot of interest, but I have a feeling Man United will nick the points here, with Champions League football so tantalizingly close and win 2-1 (19/2 with BetVictor.
