Barcelona Set to Beat Manchester United to Top Transfer Target

Manchester United could be set to miss out on their top transfer target next summer, with Spanish giants Barcelona preparing to swoop under their noses.

The Red Devils spent huge amounts during the last summer transfer window on attacking options, most notably on Belgium international frontman Romelu Lukaku.

But Jose Mourinho’s side have long been linked with another high-profile move for one of La Liga’s most prolific and highly sought after forwards.

Could Barcelona pounce to spoil their future plans, though?

Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann is never far from the headlines when it comes to transfer links with the Premier League.

Man Utd have been linked with pressing for his signature for some time now, as the France international goalscorer continues to light up the Spanish top-flight with his clinical talents.

The France star was reportedly set to arrive at Old Trafford last June before Atleti were slapped with a transfer ban, and he was previously expected to go through with the supposed deal in 2018.

However, Barcelona have now entered the fray and are intent on acquiring a new forward star in order to fill the void left by Brazilian Neymar, who previously departed for PSG.

It’s believed now that Griezmann is very much expected to choose the Nou Camp over Old Trafford next year, but the Catalans may have to fork over as much as £100 million to land his services.

It’s suggested Man Utd are now in the process of looking elsewhere and have already laid out new potential targets, as they attempt to add to their already star-studded roster under Mourinho.
