Barclays Singapore Open: Second Round Leaderboard
Australian Adam Scott leads the way in the Barclays Singapore Open after hitting his second successive round of 65 for a halfway total of 12-under-par.
Scott has won the event twice previously, in 2005 and 2006, and he is holding off the challenge of defending champion Ian Poulter who shot a blistering eight-under-par 63 in his second round to close to within two shots at 10-under-par.
30-year-old Scott played 30 holes as the field tried to catch up after the rain affected first day and 30 players were unable to complete their second round when play was suspended for the day.
The Australian fired five birdies and an eagle on the opening nine holes of the Serapong, but wilted on the homeward journey with two bogeys and one birdie.
Poulter, on the other hand, was nine shots adrift of the leader as he turned for home but produced six birdies on the back nine to take second place at the half-way stage.
Ulsterman, Graeme McDowell held his position with his round of 68, he shares third position with Sweden’s Fredrik Andersson Hed, Korea’s Kyung-nam Kang and Joost Luiten from Nederlands.
McDowell started in great fashion with birdies at the first four holes nut he lost momentum with a bogey at the fifth, he made birdie on the par-3 thirteenth before dropping another shot at the next hole to finish with a 36-hole total of 133, nine-under-par.
Joost Luiten completed twelve holes of his second round in six-under-par and he will complete the round on Saturday morning before the third round tee times are announced.
