Betway To Succeed Betvictor As New Champion Chase Sponsor
The feature race on day 2 of the 2015 Cheltenham Festival has a new sponsor after online bookmaker Betway confirmed their backing of the Queen Mother Champion Chase for the next three years.
Betway is an up-and-coming bookmaker with a growing reputation in the industry, they currently welcome new customers with a £50 free bet offer meaning punters can test drive the sportsbook risk-free. Betway sponsored the 2014 Premier League darts and have increased their brand awareness over the last few months with a TV advertising campaign, which is testament to how far the firm has come since being launched in 2006.
Betvictor announced that they had ended their involvement with Cheltenham’s second-day feature last month after they had plugged the gap following Sportingbet’s withdrawal just three years into a five year agreement. Betway have stepped in to fill the void for the race which was won by Sire De Grugy last March and the prize money for the 2 mile championship race is set to remain unchanged at £350,000.
However, unlike in previous deals Betway will not be extending their sponsorship to the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter or Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown, which are both lead up races to the Champion Chase.
There are still three races at the 2015 Cheltenham Festival yet to be sponsored; the Festival Handicap Chase, Foxhunter Chase and Byrne Group Plate. But the latest announcement means that the four feature races at the four-day National Hunt Racing spectacle remain under the sponsorship of bookmakers with Stan James continuing their arrangement for the Champion Hurdle, Ladbrokes remaining as World Hurdles sponsors and Betfred staying on as backers of the Gold Cup.
Test-drive the Betway sportsbook today and get up to £50 free bet refund if you lose your first bet.
