Cavaliers And Warriors Set For Battle
Cleveland Cavaliers have been under the spotlight all season and, although it looked like the pressure might have got to them early on in the season, they arrive at the NBA finals as East champions. They have blown the competition away this season, but it’s not all been plain sailing for them though – as a fair bit of bad luck has seen them suffer with injuries, with Kevin Love missing several months and Kyrie Irving limited with several ailments.
The inspired form of LeBron James has saw them top of the conference for the first time in eight years and the Cavaliers have lost just two games in the playoffs, with both defeats coming against Chicago Bulls in the conference semi-finals.
The 67-win Golden State Warriors arrived as title favourites to the postseason and have lived up to their billing during the three rounds played out already. Having posted a 12-3 record in the playoffs so far, it’s fair to say that they’ve carried on their impressive form into the business end of the season.
Golden State bagged a 4-1 win over Houston Rockets in the Western conference finals to make their first finals appearance in 40 years. With a loaded roster and no obvious weaknesses, the Warriors knack of always finding a way to win should see them play out a thrilling contest against the Cavaliers.
Cavaliers and Warriors both won fairly convincingly at home in the two previous meetings between the pair this season. James sat out the game at Oakland, but dominated for the home side in Cleveland so it’s sure to be worth watching when the two sides clash once more.
