Cercle Brugge v Hearts Match Preview
This match has draw written all over it, with both sides proving difficult to trust based on their performances in their respective leagues so far this season.
Hearts, while often playing with freedom in European competition, have struggled to find the back of the net domestically.
Their attacking play has lacked consistency, and despite their occasional flashes of brilliance, they've found it hard to break down opposition defences.
In contrast, Cercle Brugge have been a model of inconsistency. While they put on an impressive display in a 6-0 win over St Gallen, they followed it up with a disappointing loss to Vikingur in Iceland, highlighting their erratic form.
In terms of quality, there isn't much to separate Hearts and Kilmarnock in the domestic league, and the hosts only narrowly edged out Killie earlier this season.
Hearts will have the backing of over 3,000 travelling fans, and while they've shown some resilience in Europe, this game feels like one that is destined for a draw.
With both teams struggling to find their rhythm in attack, it's hard to see this one being a classic.
Cercle Brugge have failed to score in their last three matches, while Hearts have netted just once in their previous three outings.
It's shaping up to be a low-scoring affair, and a draw seems the most likely outcome - it's a top price of 13/5 with Betfred.
Blair Spittal enjoyed a prolific spell for Hearts last month, scoring three goals in as many games.
The former Motherwell winger followed up his Scottish Premiership strikes against Aberdeen and St Mirren with a goal in the Conference League against Omonia.
He has gone six games without scoring since, but that run of fixtures has included an Edinburgh derby, matches against both sides of the Old Firm, and a challenging encounter with Bundesliga side Heidenheim.
With Lawrence Shankland still struggling to replicate his usual goalscoring form, Hearts have had to look elsewhere for goals, and Spittal isn't afraid to take a shot when the opportunity arises - take him at 9/2 with Paddy Power to get on the scoresheet.
