Championship 12/1 Saturday Acca - Saturday, January 15

The Championship is back after a thrilling FA Cup weekend and we have picked out a 12/1 acca covering three games on Saturday, all kicking off at 3pm.

  • Sheffield United to beat Derby
  • Preston to beat Birmingham
  • QPR to beat West Brom

Sheffield United to beat Derby

The Blades are on a role, beaten by Premier League opposition, but away from that, they have won their last four Championship games. These include big wins over promotion favourites Fulham, and three of the four wins came away from home.

On Saturday, they have another away game, this time against bottom club Derby, and we fancy them to pick up another win.

United have been much improved under Paul Heckingbottom, he seems to have really stabilised the team, and results are coming. Compare that to Derby, who are at the foot of the table after their 21 point deduction, and continue to have off field problems, with a new transfer embargo against them.

The Rams are better than their position suggests, but this is a United team hitting form at the right time, and we are siding with them to keep their league winning run going.

Preston to beat Birmingham

Two teams who have been difficult to work out for most of the season, but at this moment, they are very different. Preston have won their last two, including a very impressive win over Stoke at the start of the year.

Birmingham have not won since the end of November in the league, and have suffered defeats in three of their last four. This is a team struggling for form and momentum right now, and we don’t think this will end at the weekend.

Preston are by no means world beaters, but are in decent form, and we think they can win this.

QPR to beat West Brom

Promotion contenders West Brom are three league games without a win, and they’ve scored just one goal in those games. These have come against lowly opposition too, they’ve drawn with Barnsley and Cardiff, and were beaten by Derby, three teams who are all in the bottom five of the table.

QPR have won their last two, and four of their last six. The only teams to beat them recently are Bournemouth and Stoke, two teams towards the top of the table.

Both should challenge for promotion this season, but right now, only QPR are playing anywhere near good enough for that, with West Brom really struggling.

Those struggles don’t look like ending any time soon, we fancy QPR to make them worse to round off our Championship acca.
