The Roger Varian-trained Okami has been in excellent form this year, winning three times from seven runs, including here over 6f in July.

He put in a career-best effort last time out when winning at Lingfield four weeks ago, and despite being raised 4lbs for that effort looks like a horse to follow.

With the Varian stable operating at a 30% strike rate at Chelmsford in 2023, he could have more to offer and can go very close here under Jack Mitchell.
