Chelsea injury update

Here is all the latest Chelsea injury news ahead of their meeting with Sheffield United.

After returning to full fitness last month, Reece James’ injury problems continued on Sunday. He was replaced by Levi Colwill before heading straight down the tunnel at Goodison Park after less than 35 minutes and it is now believed that the club could make him undergo surgery if asked.

It is understood the Chelsea captain will now miss ‘a few months’ through injury.

Robert Sanchez suffered a knee injury in last Wednesday’s defeat to Manchester United but was passed fit to feature against Everton. However, after going down injured in the second-half, Sanchez aggravated the injury and was taken off, eventually replaced by Djordje Petrovic. His return date is currently unknown.

After months of rehabilitation, Christopher Nkunku has finally returned to first-team training. Mauricio Pochettino revealed the trip to Manchester United was too early and he missed the defeat to Everton as well but he could feature this weekend.
