We’ve gone for the competitive Longcroft Building Services Handicap Hurdle at 3.15 Cheltenham to find today’s tip.
Robin Dickin-trained Thomas Crapper has good record at Prestbury Park and he looks sure to close again today. The gelding was runner up Don Poli over course and distance last month and really should have finished a lot closer than four and a half lengths but for jockey Joseph Palmowski going for home a little too soon. Whether he’d have had the pace to finish in front of the winner is another matter but re-united with regular rider Charlie Poste, there more confidence he can do himself justice again on this undulating left hand course.
It will be Thomas Crapper’s fifth run of the season at Cheltenham, he knocked up a double in October and November before failing to land treble when beaten 11 lengths by Sunnyhill Boy in December. Dickin took the seven-year-old to Ascot next time out where he ran fourth in heavy ground. He’s a consistent performer and we’re torn between taking 4/1 at Paddy Power with security of money back should he finish 2nd or 3rd or going for 9/2 at bet365 where we’ll pick up a risk free bet of the same stake as an added bonus if he come’s up trumps for the fifth time in his career.
