Christmas Betting Specials: HM Queen Now Topping the Charts on Betfair

Queen Speech Xmas Betting odds

Queen 15/8 to be Number 1

The Queen’s annual TV message from Buckingham Palace is new favourite on the betting exchanges to be the most popular TV show on Christmas Day. Her Majesty’s Christmas message topped TV ratings 12 months ago when attracting 8.1 million viewers.

So, it appeared strange when Call The Midwife, a show that only garnered 5.4 million viewers in 2020, was trading odds on at 2/5 to be the most viewed show on Christmas Day.

The past week has seen those Xmas betting odds drift to odds against on the exchanges and the ITV drama show has now been passed in the betting by the Royal broadcast.

The decades old Queen’s Speech Christmas Day broadcast is now attracting support into 15/8 (2.88) (from 5/1) with bet365* to be the viewers favourite once again on Saturday.

Punters on the Betfair betting exchange can only get odds of around 4/5 (1.80) on the Queen’s Speech at the time of writing. Although you should be aware this is a little complicated as it’s being shown on both BBC1 and ITV. Betfair will use the highest figure of the two whereas bet365 are just going with the BBC edition only.

Others contenders with conceivable chances are Blankety Blank, Strictly Come Dancing, The Great Christmas Bake Off and Mrs Brown’s Boys.

Shopping around at the best online bookmakers, odds ranging between 14/1 and 20/1 are available about these shows.

LadBaby Value Eaten Up

While the top TV show of Christmas is a hot contest, the race to number one in the music charts looks like a done deal.

Ladbaby’s ‘Sausage Rolls For Everyone’ was 1/8 at the start of the week. Not a morsel of that price remains. Their song, with collaboration from Elton John and Ed Sheeran, is now 1/25 to top the charts this Christmas.

100% of the profits from this song’s download will go to the Trussell Trust and its network of food banks in the UK.
