Chelsea are set to play host to London rivals Arsenal next weekend when the Premier League returns.
The Blues had a dismal start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign but they have now won their last three outings in all competitions.
Chelsea beat Brighton in the League Cup before securing PL victories over Fulham and Burnley. They will be hoping for a similar outcome vs Arsenal next week. Back Chelsea to beat Arsenal at 23/10 with bet365.
Christopher Nkunku injury update
Ahead of the Arsenal meeting, Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku has posted an update on his injury recovery.
The Frenchman picked up a significant knee injury in the Blues’ final pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund and is yet to return to action after undergoing surgery.
Now, on Instagram, Nkunku has reposted a story from @prp.team that showed him working with French personal trainer Jerome Andral, who he has worked with for the last few years.
In this story, Nkunku was shown doing horizontal pull-ups using a resistance band with his legs balanced on a large ball. The update is captioned ‘work in progress’, with two construction sign emojis either side of the three-word message.
Nkunku is just one of a number of Chelsea players to suffer an injury already this season. Ben Chilwell picked up a hamstring issue earlier this month and there is also concern surrounding Armando Broja and Cole Palmer.
On a more positive note, Reece James, Benoit Badiashile and Carney Chukwuemeka are all expected to return from their respective injuries vs Arsenal.
