There’s no surprise that Surrey are the clear favourites to beat Durham and advance to Finals Day on September 14. They finished top of the South Group with nine wins, whilst Durham finished fourth in the North with seven. The latter snuck into the last eight with a final day win back in mid-July.
I do have a sneaking feeling for Durham in this one, I have to admit.

T20 Blast Betting Tips Preview
Right at the start of the tournament in May, I tipped Durham as my tournament winners, at 25/1. Now, that’s not because I felt they were overwhelming favourites, more so because I felt they were over-priced for the quality they had.
There are plenty of examples of teams gatecrashing fourth place in the group and then shocking their favoured opponents to qualify for Finals Day.
It happened to Surrey in 2022 when Yorkshire beat them at the Oval by one run, for example.
For this one, I’d be more keen to let that pre-tournament Durham bet ride, sit back, enjoy the game and look for value elsewhere rather than picking a winner.
But if you are keen to dabble with the win market for this fixture, I certainly wouldn’t be saying, ‘Durham have no chance’. The 31/20 with BetMGM is worth considering.
Sowter returns to home turf
If Durham are going to win this one, the likelihood is that their talismanic leg-spinner Nathan Sowter will be to the fore. He has been excellent in this season’s Blast, claiming 19 wickets.
He played for champions Oval Invincibles in the Hundred, claiming seven wickets in nine matches. While he wasn’t outstanding, he was consistent. He only failed to strike in three matches.
I like betway’s 5/4 on him take two wickets or more in this match, something he did in six of Durham’s last seven North Group games.
I think opener Will Jacks is the obvious play to be Surrey’s top batter, at 23/10 with betfair. He is in decent form at present.
Different format, yes, but he has just played a County Championship match for Surrey in which he hit 59 in the first innings and claimed 7/129 with his off-spinners.
Curran can as brothers do battle
Going back to betway pre-built bets market, and I like their 5/2 on Surrey’s England all-rounder Sam Curran to score 25 plus runs, hit a six and take a wicket.
He only took one wicket in four Blast appearances for Surrey in the group stages, but he claimed 17 wickets in the Hundred for the Oval Invincibles. In those four Blast appearances, he scored a century for Surrey.
This quarter-final sees Surrey all-rounder Jordan Clark battle his younger brother, Durham’s opening batter Graham.
I like Graham at 4/1 with PaddyPower to be Durham’s top batter. He is Durham’s leading run-scorer in this season’s Blast with 322 runs.
And finally, I have put together a 13/2 four-fold bet builder with bet365.
That’s for a fifty to be scored in the match, for the fixture’s highest individual score to be over 64.5, for there to be at least one run out and for Surrey to make the highest six-over powerplay score.
