Dani Carvajal Gives Interesting Response To Question On Ronaldo And Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Juventus this summer, and it will now be interesting to see how his former Real Madrid teammates react when questioned about him.

The 33-year-old will now ply his trade in Italy after calling time on his nine-year career at the Santiago Bernabéu, where he became the club’s all time top goal scorer and won four Champions League crowns as well as two La Liga titles.

It is not certain what will happen to Ronaldo’s long standing rivalry with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi now they are playing in different leagues. The debate has been going on for a long time, but when asked to comment on his, Dani Carvajal gave a rather interesting answer.

“I think Messi and Cristiano are hardy comparable,” Carvajal said.

“They are two of the best players in history but they are very different. Messi is a player who generates more football, he has better vision for a pass.

“Messi is a player who always has the ball stuck to his feet and he always finds space. Cristiano is a player who focuses on getting into the area and scoring. He is an annihilator. They are different, but at the same time so good.”

Many people noticed the Spain international’s inability to side with Ronaldo, after years of Real Madrid players doing just that. He didn’t even endorse him to win a sixth Ballon d’Or later this year.

“Modric, Cristiano and Messi are my candidates for the Ballon D’or. I think Messi and Cristiano are a level above the rest,” he added.

Perhaps the narrative that everybody has become so used to will be changing over the next few years…
