The new CEO, Harris, will arrive at Favourit with a wealth of experience, having enjoyed nine years as IT Director and board member at Sportingbet Australia between 2004 and 2013 and before that he was IT Director and board member at IASBet.
Simmons said: “I am very excited to be able to announce Gary Harris is joining our company and working with us to continue Favourit’s international growth.
“Since our European launch in November 2014, we are pleased with our performance exceeding internal expectations and are quickly validating our point of difference in the market.
“We are out to prove that Favourit is changing the game for punters worldwide, and with Gary’s expertise, I firmly believe the company has a very bright future ahead.”
During his time at Sportingbet Australia, Harris oversaw online turnover increase from £4.5m to £1.1bn
Harris said: “I am delighted to join the Favourit team at this stage of its development as it proves up its highly differentiated social user experience.
“Toby and his brother as co-founders have built a global and scalable platform that in my view shows tremendous promise as one of the few really differentiated platforms in the market today.
“I have great faith that a socially designed approach to sports betting is a rapid growth opportunity in a very large global addressable market, and is already achieving substantial growth and impressive operating metrics since its launch in the European market in late 2004.”
