Arsenal injury news

Ahead of the game, Arsenal have several injury concerns to deal with over the international break.

Gabriel Martinelli suffered a cut on his foot in the recent win over Sheffield United and despite initially being called up by Brazil for their games this month, has since withdrawn from the squad.

The full extent on the winger’s injury remains unknown. Mikel Arteta remained tight-lipped over Martinelli’s chances of playing before their Champions League encounter with FC Porto despite describing him as ‘pretty positive’ before the Brentford game. But Martinelli was then spotted on crutches at Emirates after Arsenal beat Thomas Frank’s side.

On a more positive note, Thomas Partey came off the bench against Sheffield United and Brentford after completing his comeback from a thigh injury.

However, he will sit out the upcoming Ghana internationals this month. Partey made this decision to focus on regaining full fitness with Arsenal ahead of the run-in.
