Arsenal round out gameweek eight of the 2023/24 Premier League season on Sunday afternoon when they play host to Manchester City.
The Gunners head into the weekend as one of only two sides still undefeated in the top flight this term. Manchester City, meanwhile, suffered a 2-1 loss to Wolves in GW7. Back Arsenal to beat Manchester City at 19/10 with bet365.
Bukayo Saka injury latest
Ahead of Sunday’s marquee matchup, the main talking point has been Bukayo Saka’s injury.
The winger had an issue before the Gunners’ 4-0 triumph over Bournemouth last weekend and was then taken off after 34 minutes on Tuesday when Arsenal lost to Lens in the Champions League.
It was reported that Saka has a minor strain in his hamstring and will face a late fitness test for the weekend’s game with Manchester City. Despite the injury, Gareth Southgate then named Bukayo Saka in his England squad for the October international break, which kicks off next week.
After selecting Saka, Southgate provided an insight into the player’s injury: “He’s [Saka] still being assessed so obviously they’ve got a big game this weekend and then there’s another seven days before we play Australia and then another ten days before Italy, so we’ll monitor everyone,” the England boss stated.
Should Saka be forced to sit out the City game, Arsenal will need to look toward Martin Odegaard to provide much of the attacking threat. The Norweigan is their second-top goalscorer in 2023/24 and will most likely be on penalties if Saka is out. Odegaard can be backed at 3/1 to score anytime vs City with bet365.
