Former Leicester City striker Gary Lineker begrudgingly complimented Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool star netted twice to complete a comeback against the Foxes on Saturday at Anfield.
The Egyptian’s 22nd and 23rd goals of the season came in the second half. Jamie Vardy opened the scoring after a mistake in the Liverpool defence just three minutes in.
From that moment on, the game became all about pressure from the home side, although the importance of clinching the £75 million deal for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, who was clear.
Salah could have netted four or five goals in truth, and he has been so impressive for the Reds this season, leaving Lineker to hilariously pay tribute to him despite him downing his beloved Foxes.
Liverpool end the year in fourth place and will no doubt be looking forward to welcoming van Dijk into the side after January 1st.
