David Moyes praises West Ham star

Despite coming away with a 3-1 win over Everton, the Toffees were arguably the more dominant side on Saturday.

Everton had 22 total shots and 11 on goal, compared to West Ham’s 12 shots and five on goal.

But the east Londoners were able to come away with the win thanks to some superb goalkeeping from Alphonse Areola, who earned high praise from David Moyes post-match:

“Alphonse’s goalkeeping and his saves have been great,” Moyes said.

“You could hear the crowd here chanting his name here today and quite rightly so. He deserves all the plaudits he’s been given.

“He played brilliantly well, saved a good penalty kick and we move onto European football again in midweek with a bit of confidence again.”
