Heung-min Son speaks on Asian Cup

Heung-min Son will return to north London and be part of Ange Postecouglou’s squad once more after South Korea’s exit from the competition.

And Spurs’ meeting with Brighton could be Son’s first game back for the club since New Year’s Eve.

But before his club return, Son has sent a message regarding the 2023 Asian Cup:

“Many people were looking forward to holding the Asian Cup Tournament and focusing only on the whole game, so there was too much appreciation,” wrote Son on Instagram.

“It was scary and sad to [go] back to London after the match, but we arrived safely. I guess I wasn’t good enough as captain and didn’t lead the team well.

“I was so proud of being a Korean football player because of your love and support, even in this situation. Thank you and I am sorry.”
